Integrated Diabetes Services is delighted to announce the addition of SaRene Brooks to our clinical team. SaRene is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist whose focus is lifestyle intervention.
A graduate of Utah State University with a bachelor of science degree in dietetics, diabetes has always been a major part of SaRene’s personal and professional life. “I grew up with a father who had type 1 diabetes. I clearly remember the archaic equipment he used to check his blood glucose and give his insulin. Since then, two of my three sons were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, both at age 16. This motivates me to helping individuals and families work through the complexities of living with diabetes.”
SaRene’s professional experience includes running a fully-accredited Diabetes Self-Management Education program. She also spent many years leading a lifestyle change program for weight management and chronic disease prevention. She thrives on providing the kind of care and education that empowers people to reach their personal health goals.
In addition to providing all aspects of nutrition education and guidance, SaRene will be developing customized weight management programs for IDS clients.
SaRene volunteers for organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and American Diabetes Association youth camps. She also serves on her local Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists conference planning committee. In her spare time, she can be found in the great outdoors camping and hiking with her family. She enjoys creating new recipes and loves a good crochet project.
A resident of Morgan, Utah, SaRene’s husband Scott also loves the outdoors. In addition to her three sons and their wives, her family includes four adorable grandchildren.
