You may have heard that some IDS clinicians are using the do-it-yourself “Loop” app to create a hybrid closed-loop system. We’re not alone. Despite the complexity in getting it set up, there are more than a thousand people worldwide using this program to automate insulin delivery. We’ve found it to be a very effective system and would love to help more people access it, but the required equipment is getting harder to find.
That’s where YOU come in…
If you happen to have an old Medtronic pump collecting dust in the back of your closet (or at the bottom of a drawer, or wedged between sofa cushions), consider donating it to our office.
Specifically, we’re looking for Medtronic Paradigm pumps manufactured between 2006 and 2012 with the following model numbers:
- 515 or 715
- 522 or 722
- 523 or 723
- 554 or 754
The model number can be found on the back of the pump, after the letters MMT-.
If your pump is a 523/723 or 554/754, stick a battery in. After it boots up, press “esc” and scroll to the bottom of the status screen to check the firmware (software that drives the pump) number. We’re looking for firmware 2.4 or lower on US versions, 2.6 or lower on Canadian and Australian versions, and 2.7 or lower on other worldwide versions.
Of course, if you also have extra supplies (reservoirs, infusion sets), those would be appreciated as well. But the PUMPS are what we really need. Please ship to:

I am looking for a Medtronic pump so I can’t start looping. Can you help me out? I have built my app, bought my orange link pro and have the dexcom g6, I just need to get a pump now. Any help would be appreciated.
You can reach out to our office either by phone 610-642-6055 or email info@integrateddiabetes.com for more information
I have had Type 1 diabetes and have something called electromagnetic hypersensitivity. I did not have any problem with the Medtronic Minimed Paradigm pump. Then Minimed says they no longer make Paradigm, and are only offering the newer pumps that have CGM on them. For me this means 24-hour a day exposure to radiation that I don’t need. The Paradigm did not do this. Even when my new pump is in airplane mode, I can still feel lit. I would like my Paradigm back. I sent it in to get a reduction in the price of the new pump (which I pay for monthly). I want my Paradigm back. If there are any resources you know of that can help me, please let me know. I should have just kept it.
HI Jennifer,
I recommend reaching out to your local pemdtronic clinical rep and ask if there is any way to get a refurbished paradigm pump. We have some available in office if you’d like to reach out to
kgentile@integrateddiabetes.com
However we have only ever successfully gotten a client through the process of getting an older pump once, and it took close to a year.
I have a Medtronic 712 and a Medtronic 723 Paradigm Insulin Pump. Are you still
looking for donations?
Yes Gary thankyou, we are accepting donations of pumps
however we can only accept silhouettes and mio supplies
I sent them by UPS on 01/29/2021. I am in my 49th year as a type one diabetic and getting my first insulin pump changed my life. Was taking five insulin shot a day with my blood sugars going up and down like a roller coaster. Take care, Gary
Do you buy Medtronic minimed MMT-1780K
We accept donations of pumps and pump supplies to share with other persons with diabetes in need.
We also accept donations of pieces that would be interesting for our diabetes through the decades display. but we do not pay for these donations.
I have a mini med 630 used 3 months can’t afford supplies. Is there any way to sell pump?
Hi David, we do not buy insulin pumps, there is no official approved market other than pump company “buy back” programs. However you could sell it independently via a site like ebay or an app like helparound.
I have two insulin pumps, five boxes of reservoirs and 5 boxes of infusion sets. Do you buy these?
We do not purchase pump supplies, we do accpet some supplies and pumps as donations to help others or to add to our museum display, but we do not purchase.
i would recommend checking out the app Helparound.
I have a 630G. Do you have any interest in that and could I take a tax deduction? I was just going to sell it, but would love to donate it.
If you still have your 630G and don’t plan to use it, then yes, please send it to us. We can find a home for it.
