Trio Podcast:  an Open-Source Overview

On July 8th of this year, Kathryn, Jenny, Dana and I recorded our first Trio-related Podcast.

We talked about what it is like to move from one diabetes management system to another. Even if the new system is amazing and offers great flexibility and options, it is hard to decide to take the first step to make a change. Learning how each system works, how the settings, and often, sub-settings, make an impact on glucose levels.

Our podcast, IDS Diabetes Experts Share Personal Experiences with Open-Source Automated Insulin Delivery, dives into several of the key settings that we each find helpful in our personal lives with T1D.

It turns out one of the features we all like has to do with dosing for food!  We each have different settings when we compared notes and looked at AutoSens Min, AutoSens Max, Adjustment Factor, % Bolus, Reduced Meal Bolus settings, for example!

The discussion covers some of the many reasons we love Trio!

Cone of UncertaintyIt turns out we are all fans of the Cone of Uncertainty.  The documentation available online and in the Trio app itself is amazing. We also discussed that we are super impressed by the individualization of the settings options, which were clearly made for people living with T1D who have a variety of individual challenges based on our own bodies and our own lifestyle factors.

If you haven’t yet, check out our first Trio-related podcast!  Look for our recently recorded second episode about Trio, which will be released soon.   More Trio-related goodness is being planned now!

If you are interested in learning more about Open Source systems, we would be glad to meet with you to offer you guidance, support, and education to help you succeed. Schedule a free, 20-minute consult to learn more.

If you would like help with features, build assist coaching, or anything Open Source Code (AKA DIY) systems related, schedule a time to meet with one of our CDCESs at Integrated Diabetes Services.  We love helping people explore their options and learn about what is possible!
