In the month of June, Think Like a Pancreas—The Podcast hosted more must-listen episodes.  In case you missed it….

Episode 90, The Mental Weight of T1D–Burnout, Advocacy & Self-Compassion, was a special episode that revisited some of our most important conversations about the emotional weight of living with type 1 diabetes.

James van der Meulen shared his experience of burnout during law school and how he got back on track.

Mental health specialist Anna Sabino offered practical ways to navigate burnout and explained what it can be hiding underneath.

And mental health professional Kristi Paguio joined Dr. Paula Diab shared how to build a support team to help you run a race that never ends.

Episode 91, Fear of Low Blood Sugars. Breaking it Down with Bill Polonsky was a powerful conversation between IDS’s own mental health clinician, Anna Sabino and renowned diabetes psychologist Dr. Bill Polonsky. Together, they explore the difference between healthy caution and pronounced fear of hypoglycemia, and why so many people quietly run their blood sugars high to feel “safe.”

They shared  practical, hopeful strategies for regaining confidence in your body, rebuilding trust, and getting your life back — because “if you live with diabetes-related anxiety, you’re not weak, you’re not alone, and there’s a lot you can do about it.”

What is Double Diabetes? In Episode 92 Gary Scheiner sat down with Dr. Nick Argento to explain how a person with type 1 diabetes can become insulin resistant, what this means for their overall health, and the steps that they can take to improve their health.

While this year’s ADA Scientific Sessions were surrounded by some drama, Gary Scheiner took the opportunity to share insights that mattered to people living with diabetes in episode 93. The ADA Scientific Sessions Round Up With Gary Scheiner revealed product updates, including the status of a ketone sensor, research insights, AID optimization information, and much more.

In episode 94, Gary Scheiner shared how to Add Some Muscle to Your Diabetes Management with Chris Ruden. Chris is a transformational keynote speaker, change management expert, and disability inclusion advocate who engages audiences across the USA and worldwide.  He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 19 and is an amputee, a world-record powerlifter, and NBC’s Titan Games competitor.

Together, they shared the importance of muscle growth to your overall health, tips for building muscle, and why it is important not to “should all over yourself” when building muscle or managing your diabetes care.

The great information doesn’t stop there! Subscribe now on your favorite podcast app or the IDS YouTube channel to access a new episode each week.
