August 2024 Technology News in the Diabetes World
by IDS Director of Exercise Physiology, Teen/Young Adult Specialist, Kathryn Gentile Alvarez

It’s tough to stay on top of everything going on in the diabetes world lately.
Below, I compiled a list of some of the most noteworthy things that have happened recently. Short sweet and to the point.
- Tandem: G7 compatibility with the X2 and Mobi. Also, libre 2 plus compatibility with the X2.
- Omnipod 5: Users can now use the dexcom G7. *Make sure you have G7 compatible pods (says on the box). iPhone compatibility full release expected in December(do we believe them?).
- Sequel’s Twiist receives FDA 510(k) clearance
- Beta Bionics iLet is compatible with the G7. They also now have a suspend feature in the pump to help manage things such as physical activity.
- Trio (formally iAPS) is expected to fully launch in the near future
- Abbott now is in partnership with Medtronic to get their cgm/s connected with their insulin pumps (well done Medtronic, your sensors have been a nightmare for far too long for many).
- Loop 3.4 was released which includes algorithm experiments and favorite foods. Additionally, for browser builders, auto updates. Hooray!
