Your New Year’s Fitness Resolution – Personal Training
Happy New Year everyone!!! This time of year is very popular for new
gym memberships and aspirations to stay motivated to reach new fitness goals. Unfortunately, the January-packed gyms quickly go back to pre-new year capacity and health and wellness goals are pushed to the back burner again. Maintaining an exercise regimen can be very difficult.
Life can be incredibly draining and including a workout often feels impossible.
To reach our goals, it’s important to make them measurable and write them down. This will help a lot to stay on track and with accountability. Typically, we need people to help keep us on track as well. A workout partner or trainer is a good idea to look for! I want to be that person for you if it’s something you’re missing.
I offer both a group exercise class and personal training services.
Personally, I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes since I was 12 years old. When I was in undergrad I read Gary’s book “Think Like a Pancreas” and was inspired to be like him and help others living with diabetes one day. I received my bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology. Eventually, I got an internship with Gary following graduation in 2019.
From 2019 until now I became an ACSM-certified clinical exercise physiologist, personal trainer, sports nutrition coach and got a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. On top of that, I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I’m passionate to help individuals surpass their health and wellness goals without diabetes getting in the way.
Here are comments from some of our participants:
“I have had an awesome experience training with Kathryn due to her extensive knowledge of diabetes, exercise techniques, and her motivating can-do attitude. Whereas previously I used to dread exercise, Kathryn makes the workouts fun and exciting, and I find myself exercising independently now as well. Kathryn goes above and beyond to help you achieve your goals, and today I am stronger and fitter because of her support.” -Miranda, T1D
“Kathryn has been helping me with one-on-one workouts and group fitness classes that have been really rewarding. It’s fun to workout with other people with diabetes! Highly recommend!” -Dave, T1D
