IDS Monthly Survey: October 2025

LAST MONTH’S SURVEY QUESTION:

In last month’s edition of Diabetes Bites, we asked what would YOU most like to see in the next-generation CGM.

Here’s how you responded:

  • 47% Elimination (or reduction) of “lag time”
  • 10% Measurement of ketones as well as glucose
  • 10% Even smaller sensors/transmitters
  • 1% Talking monitors
  • 32% Much longer-lasting sensors

For those who don’t know, lag-time is the time that passes from the moment the glucose level changes to the moment it is reported by the CGM device. Most of the time, lag time is minimal (3-5 minutes). But at other times, it can be as long as 30-45 minutes. This can be the case during exercise, dehydration, or when recovering from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
