LAST MONTH’S SURVEY QUESTION:
In last month’s edition of Diabetes Bites, we asked those with experience wearing “tubed” insulin pumps (Medtronic, Tandem, Animas, Disetronic, etc…) to rate the inconvenience factor associated with the tubing.
Surprisingly, this survey received more responses than any survey we’ve done in the past three years. Here’s what you said:
7%: I hate tubing! It is a MAJOR round-the-clock pain-in-the-butt.
16%: I really don’t like the tubing. It often causes problems.
69% Not that big a deal. Once in a while, it gets in the way.
8%: Honestly, I never even notice the tubing.
Note that only about 1-in-4 users of tubed pumps have a real issue with it. It might be interesting to find out if age, gender, or activity level plays a role.
