IDS Monthly Survey: December 2022
LAST MONTH’S SURVEY QUESTION:
In last month’s edition of Diabetes Bites, we asked how often do you meet with your doctor for your diabetes treatment.
Here’s how you responded:
4% More than four times a year
44% Every three months
41% About every 6 months
11% About once a year
0% Only on an as-needed basis
The vast majority see their diabetes doctor two-to-four times per year. So let’s do the math. We’ll be generous and say each appointment lasts for 30 minutes. That means we spend at most two hours per year under the direct guidance of a physician. For the other 8,758 hours, we’re basically on our own to figure out, well, pretty much everything. That’s why advanced, intensive diabetes self-management training/education is so critical!
