LAST MONTH’S SURVEY QUESTION:
In last month’s edition of Diabetes Bites, we asked how many hours of sleep you get in a typical night.
Here’s how you responded:
1% Less than 5 hours
27% 5-6 hours
66% 7-8 hours
6% 9-10 hours
0% More than 10 hours
Although individual needs vary, research has shown that most adults function best following 7-8 hours of sleep, while children require 8-10. And quality counts as well. Deep sleep with minimal interruptions is best for overall health and well-being.
