the trivia time winner

Last month we asked for the name of the first inhaled insulin which launched in the early 2000s.

Congratulations to Meredith Coulter of Ridgway, Colorado, USA – T1 for six years and mom of a beautiful 2-year-old daughter – for being the first person with the correct answer!

ANSWER: EXUBERA.  A product of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Exubera had a short existence due to its awkward design; Pfizer invested upwards of $1 billion in the product, but clearly did not consult the right people in its development. MannKind tried to learn from Pfizer’s failures when designing Afrezza, the only inhaled insulin currently on the market.
