TRIVIA TIME!

Last month, we asked for the percentage of pump users who use each of the following on a regular basis:

1. The bolus calculator
2. Temporary basal rates
3. Extended (dual/square/combo) Boluses

The answer, according to research presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) 2020 conference, is less than encouraging.  64% use the pump’s bolus calculator.  38% use the temp basal feature, and a mere 26% utilize extended boluses.  Perhaps that is why, despite an onslaught of new technology, so few people with T1D are achieving their glucose management goals.

Anyway, I’ll get off my soapbox.

Congratulations to Ann Martens of Arlington, Virginia, USA for submitting the closest guesses.  A regular volunteer at the National Zoo in Washington DC, Ann has adult-onset type-1 diabetes and makes effective use of her pump and CGM.

NEW QUESTION:

Despite their heavy workload and extreme dedication, endocrinologists’ pay continues to be among the lowest of all medical specialty groups.

Based on a 2019-2020 survey, what is the average annual income for endocrinologists?
