=>Last month: we asked where the “glycemic index” was originally conceived and tested.
CONGRATS: Diane Bejcek, a clinical psychologist from the Chicago area who was diagnosed with LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adulthood) back in 2018 came up with the correct answer!
ANSWER: The original research and development of glycemic index took place in Sydney, Australia.
For those unfamiliar with the term, glycemic index refers to the speed with which food items convert into glucose. Technically, the glycemic index scores represent the percentage of carbs that have entered the bloodstream as glucose within two hours of consuming a specific food item. Higher scores represent a faster glucose rise.

THIS MONTH’S NEW TRIVIA QUESTION:

If you read my intro article, Customer (Dis)Service, you know that bad customer service sends my glucose skyrocketing. Of course, this is the result of the production of stress hormones.
Let’s see if you can name at least FIVE hormones that cause glucose levels to rise.
(no extra credit if you name more than five… that’s just showing off, smarty pants!)
