IDS Monthly Survey: September 2021
LAST MONTH’S SURVEY QUESTION:
In the August edition of Diabetes Bites, we asked you to share your preferred background environment for working out. There were 123 responses, and here’s what you had to say:
57% Music! Every time!
13% TV/Video. I need to be entertained.
0% Just give me someone to talk to.
30% Mother nature is all I need.
0% I prefer silence and solitude.
Music was the clear favorite, although many people enjoy the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. Some readers commented that they prefer different forms of “entertainment” with different types of workouts. I (Gary) prefer hard rock music when lifting weights, TV while doing cardio, and pleasant scenery while outdoors cycling.
THIS MONTH’S NEW SURVEY QUESTION:
One of the recent medical advances in diabetes is “ultra-rapid” insulin – Fiasp and Lyumjev.
Both are a little bit faster than Novolog (Novorapid) and Humalog, but some people have reported side effects such as site irritation, burning, and irregular absorption. What has your experience been (if any) with these new ultra-rapid insulins?
