Remote Emotional Support Counseling

Living with diabetes can be tough.

It’s like having another demanding (and sometimes frustrating) 24/7 job on top of everything else in your life.  It’s no wonder that people with diabetes (and their caregivers) are at an increased risk for depression, burnout, anxiety, eating disorders, and a variety of other emotional health issues.

The American Diabetes Association recently announced the launch of a Mental Health Provider Referral Directory, which can help you locate mental health professionals in your area.  The listings are still a bit hit-or-miss, but that’s not a problem because we offer access to one of the best diabetes clinical social workers in the world:  Diane Herbert MSS, LCSW, CDCES

As a mom to a child with T1D, Diane knows that diabetes is not just counting carbs and taking insulin.  Diabetes is with us through every stage and aspect of life.  As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, she focuses on blending positive emotional health with sound diabetes management practices.

Diane’s areas of expertise include:

  • Family Dynamics
  • Burnout
  • Stress Management
  • Anxieties (including fear of high or low blood sugar)
  • Depression

Diane is available to work with all clients of Integrated Diabetes Services (past or present) via remote means such as phone/video chat. Her rates for counseling sessions are similar to our standard IDS appointment fees.

If distress is getting in the way of your ability to enjoy life and take care of your diabetes (or a loved one’s diabetes), let us help.
