A quick note from Gary…Get Out Your Jumper Cables.
Last week, the battery in my trusty old Honda Accord finally said “enough.” So I whipped out the jumper cables from the trunk, hooked the battery up to my wife’s minivan, and gave it enough juice to get me to the auto supply store. Problem solved.
As I hear more and more about diabetes burnout, I can’t help but think that we can all use a jump start now and then. For some people, a jump start takes the form of a completely fresh start. For others, it’s a short-term vacation, setting up “smart” goals, or infusing some form of new technology. It’s normal and expected to feel burned out: diabetes is a mother *&!#@ of a disease – relentless, unforgiving, and very demanding. But that’s not an excuse to give up.
If you could use a jump start, connect with us. We’re here to listen, and here to help. This is a judgment-free zone. None of us is perfect with our own diabetes, and we don’t expect it from anyone else. You’d be amazed at how many times our own diabetes devices come flying out of our office doors just out of sheer frustration! (Nancy and Karen have learned to duck before passing by)
So if you’re interested in doing better, feeling better, or just making a change, our team of clinicians can help you make it happen. CALL US (in North America 877-735-3648; outside North America +1 610-642-6055). Or E-MAIL US (firstname.lastname@example.org). We promise to take you seriously. But not too seriously!
